YOUR RESUME IS OFTEN THE FIRST STEP IN LANDING A NEW JOB THAT PAYS BETTER
Why not ensure it is positioning you for success, not failure?
Top Prospect Careers will help you write a resume that will generate more interviews, position you to start your negotiations from a position of strength, and give you the confidence you need during your job search.
You Don't Just Want a CV, You Want A Job!
We work collaboratively when writing a resume to ensure we capture your voice and your experience in a way that resonates with recruiters, hiring managers, and employers.
Unlike many other companies in the career services space, an indicator of a successful resume for Top Prospect Careers is not simply that you like it. It is that the resume is effective and generates you interviews. To put it simply, you don’t want a resume. You want a job. Let us help you realize that goal.
WHY DO YOU NEED A RESUME?
Let’s get this over quickly!
The main reason a resume is important is that you can’t get a job without one. Despite the anecdotal evidence that suggests otherwise, you almost always need a resume. Even when your best friend is helping you with a job (barring it’s not their own company), they say, “just email me your resume and I will give it to my boss.”
Two More Reasons You Need A Resume...
First, organizations need to ensure they have liability protection. Mainly so they can prove they are engaging in hiring practices that are not based on gender, race, religion, etc. They want that bland and personal-information-void document to back up their hiring practices. Does this mean they can’t discriminate and won’t discriminate? No. But the resume provides them with the information they need to protect themselves in a discriminatory case.
What is the second reason they want a resume? It helps organize the hiring process. Imagine sourcing for a popular position and having three hundred people apply for it by either walking in, calling, or doing some elaborate creative gesture involving balloons, paperclips, and a lampshade. It’s unrealistic, time-consuming, and a pain for employers. The resume process helps them save money and streamline quality candidates.
Your resume is a marketing tool. When written well, it can sell you. It is possibly the most important document you can have regarding earning money and building a career. We all know there is a lot of competition out there, so why not optimize your resume as much as possible? Take the time to guarantee you’re doing whatever you can to get that coveted piece of paper in front of the recruiter and hiring manager’s capable eyes.
From your contact information to your education section and everything in between, Top Prospect Careers improves every aspect of your resume with our resume writing service. This is how we do it:
Ask for a quote and fill out the form! TPC will review your submission and send a quote/invoice.
Once the invoice is paid, TPC will begin creating a tentative first draft based on the information you provided to familiarize ourselves more with your career history.
Then we will schedule a call to discuss your career, goals, and the finer details of your professional experience during the strategy session.
After our conversation, we will produce the first draft for you to review. We will go back and forth on revisions until we have completed a document.
During the resume revision period, we will also start writing any other documents associated with the package (cover letter, LinkedIn, etc.).
Top Prospect Careers strives for client success. We are constantly working to ensure our executive and top-performing clients have the competitive advantage they need to get hired faster.
OUR RESUME WRITING PROCESS
What Makes Our Resumes Different?
If you were to Google resume writer, you’d probably get hundreds if not thousands of results. So, what makes Top Prospect Careers better than any other ones?
We write the resume in collaboration with you, to reflect your experience, in your voice. Many resume writing companies ask for or rely on very little client input when they are crafting documents, so instead of meaningful points about your career, you receive word vomit like this: “Value-driven change agent and growth-focused thought leader with a proven talent for aligning business strategy and objectives with business paradigms.”
In layman's terms, this is called perceived value, basically something that sounds good but says little. In addition, and I question the ethical decision to do this, many resume writing and career services companies do not remove their digital signatures on the resumes they produce for their clients. These are just a couple of ways where they don’t have your best interest in mind.
This is where we come in. Our clients appreciate our individualized approach to expressing their unique career journey. We rely on your explicit input to craft career documents (resume, LinkedIn, cover letter, etc.) so that the final product reflects you with our polish, not the other way around.
In fact, many of our clients tell us that the consultative strategy session that we use helps them gain clarity on their experience and accomplishments, assists them with developing a cohesive job search starter, and prepares them for interviews.
OUR RESUMES ARE ATS COMPLIANT/FRIENDLY
Before we talk about this, let’s get clear on some things.
Contrary to popular belief, the sole function of an ATS is not to screen and scan applicants. An ATS simplifies the recruitment process; this can be in the shape of creating a workflow, posting jobs, standardized job descriptions, organizing, screening, and searching for applicants, scheduling interviews, extending offers, and managing candidates.
How Does An ATS Impact Job Seekers?
As part of the hiring process, candidate resumes are stored within their candidate information or profile. In addition, resumes are parsed to extract key data to populate fields in the application and the internal candidate profile. This can replace entering your information into an online form or application, although it rarely does, as many of you will attest to.
Our resumes are designed to be scanned with ease by ATSs and recruiters alike. That is all ATS friendly, optimized, compliant etc., means. There is no secret keyword trick or some divine template. It is simply creating a document that is easy to parse and scan!
